On March 20, China’s second domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Huacheng, successfully undocked at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.
The 141,900-ton vessel features 2,130 cabins and can accommodate up to 5,232 passengers. It is scheduled for sea trials by the end of May and delivery before the end of the year, with future operations based in Guangzhou Nansha.
KAM, a Singapore-based company with production and operational bases in Changzhou, played a key role in the project. Leveraging its Changzhou facilities, KAM participated in the construction by undertaking electrical outfitting works in core areas such as stairways and public spaces, achieving 100% completion with zero-defect delivery.
KAM also contributed to interior outfitting and material supply, providing solutions including aluminum honeycomb panels, PVC flooring, and fire-rated doors, supporting the advancement of China’s domestic cruise shipbuilding capabilities.
The project highlights the growing strength of China’s shipbuilding industry and the increasing role of internationally positioned companies with strong local manufacturing capabilities.
