Carnival Cruise Line cancels planned sailings, upending vacations: ‘Definitely a disappointment’

Carnival Cruise Line has announced the cancellation of 11 scheduled sailings aboard its vesselCarnival Firenze, impacting voyages planned between October 12 and November 16, 2026.

The affected cruises were primarily short 3- to 4-night itineraries departing from Long Beach, California, serving popular destinations in Baja Mexico.

According to the company, the cancellations are related to adjustments in itinerary planning and vessel deployment. While detailed reasons were not disclosed, the move is understood to be part of a broader strategy to reposition the ship within Carnival’s global network.

Passengers affected by the cancellations have been offered flexible options, including rebooking on alternative sailings with price protection or receiving full refunds. Additional onboard credit incentives are also being provided for rebooked guests.

Looking ahead,Carnival Firenzeis expected to transition from its current West Coast operations to the East Coast market, with plans to operate from Miami and later New York starting in 2027.
